I Can Do All Things Through Christ Jesus Who Strengthens Me
"I tin do all things through Christ who strengthens me." – (Philippians iv:thirteen)
Phil. 4:13 has always been my favorite poetry in the Bible. I used to write it on the back of my basketball shoes during games, and I say it to myself frequently. To me, information technology had always meant that I tin can accomplish anything because of my organized religion. While I still believe that all things are possible with God, I have learned a deeper and more than important meaning of the verse, as well.
I was recently talking to my mentor Morris Michalski, manager of Athletes in Action Basketball, virtually this verse. He told me that the poesy goes wt ay beyond its common interpretation, particularly amid people in sports. We related information technology to something I heard that the NCAA football national champion Ohio Country Buckeyes had written on all their wristbands: East + R = O. It stands for "Outcome + Response = Consequence."
Related to Philippians 4:13, this equation means that no matter what circumstances (the event) I face up, I can answer with the strength of Christ. This doesn't jusmean I can overcome adversity; it also means that I take peace in the midst of struggles and hope in the midst of despair, which tin come from no other source but Jesus. When nosotros answer to the events of our lives with Christ in our hearts, the outcome will always glorify God. I certainly fall way brusk of this, and ofttimes answer to events based on emotions, not Christ. But God'south grace is overwhelming, and I get new chances every day. I continually pray for His presence to be led to Christ through all events in my life. God is expert…all the fourth dimension!
